  1. What is Windows Commander?
  2.  
  3. Windows Commander is a file manager for Windows  similar to the Windows file
  4. manager WINFILE.EXE. But Windows Commander is an implementation of a popular
  5. DOS Commander in the Windows environment.
  6.  
  7. Here some Features of Windows Commander:
  8.  
  9. - Keyboard layout similar to the DOS original.
  10. - Supports Drag & Drop with the mouse, even to the print manager.
  11. - Extended copying, moving, renaming and deleting of entire trees 
  12.   (directories with their subdirectories).
  13. - Archives are handled like subdirectories. You can easily copy files
  14.   from and to archives, the appropriate packer is automatically called.
  15.   Pkzip, arj and lha are supported.
  16. - Start-menu (user-defined menu) to place your favourite DOS and Windows 
  17.   apps in. As an option, the actual directory and/or the file under the
  18.   cursor can be handed over to the application.
  19. - Command line for the simple starting of programs with parameters, simply
  20.   by typing the program name or by pressing CTRL+ENTER or CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER.
  21. - Enhanced search function with full text search in any files on multiple drives
  22. - Built in file viewer (F3) to view files of ANY SIZE in hex, binary or text
  23.   format, using either the ASCII- (DOS) or the ANSI- (Windows) character set.
  24. - NEW: Internal Unzip by Info-Zip, which allows unzipping without calling an
  25.   external program! The source code in Turbo-Pascal is free and can be obtained
  26.   directly from me.
